Many of us will have a lots of photographs and probably use iPhoto, Lightroom, Aperture or something similar to organise them. – But then what? How often do we look at them and how do we share them with family and friends?

A web based photo album can easily be put on a CD or DVD and given or posted to someone, not just put out on the Web. It's easy to change both the content and design, keeping you photo album looking fresh.

Having tried various methods of building and maintaining web based albums Robert has found JAlbum the easiest to use. JAlbum is free, it has a vibrant user community (forum) where you can get help, offer suggestions and publish a link to your site. It uses "skins" to control how the generated web pages look and comes bundled with a good selection, although many more are available for downloading. Robert was so impressed he actually made a donation to the developers!
